England thy beauties are tame and domestic
To one who has roved on the mountains afar
Oh! For the crags that are wild and magestic
The steep frowning glories of dark Lochnagar.
- Lord Byron

I climbed my first mountain in Scotland at age 13 years - I had never heard of the term "Munro". Sadly, I have since been stripped of this innocence. Having almost 200 Munros under my belt, the unclimbed remainder appear rather uninspiring - I will return to the great peaks rather than further pursue this cinderella activity!

Having joined The Cairngorm Club early in 2011  - I am now enjoying a Scottish renaissance!

My Top Twenty - It is not easy to select twenty mountains from such a tremendous choice.
However, after much deliberation and in no particular order,  I propose:

1. An Teallach
2. Blaven
3. Beinn Eighe
4. Liathach
5. Ben Nevis
6. Foinaven
7. Seanna Bhraigh
8. Suilven
9. Braeriach
10. Sgurr Alasdair

11. Ladhar Bheinn
12. Sgurr Nan Ceathreamhnan
13. The Saddle
14. Bidean Nam Bian
15. A'Mhaighdean
16. Sgurr Nan Gillean
17. Aonach Eagach
18. Ben More Assynt
19. Lochnagar
20. Streap
